Anns bridal bargain

Fmv, on September 18, 2019 at 3:03 AM Posted in Planning 1 11
So im planning on ordering my invites from anns.
The only thing im confused with is while looking at the invite it says it includes inner and outer envelopes and a free rsvp postcard....if its a postcard, why would they need an inner envelope?
I personally plan on using the inner envelope for guests to send rsvp cards back- im not a fan of the postcard idea...alot of mail gets lost in my area so i feel like a postcard would be easier to get lost
Anyone else dealt with this?

I got the invitations that came with the postcard RSVP, and I love them! I got them a few months ago during a sale but won’t be sending them out until closer to the wedding. Mail usually doesn’t get lost a lot in my area so I’m hoping it stays that way for the RSVP postcard.

Wedding invitations traditionally always come with an inner & outter envelope. You put the invitation and RSVP (and details card if you have one) inside the inner envelope with the people your inviting’s actual first and last names (so it tells the guests who are specifically invited). That envelope goes inside the outter, which would be the one for mailing purposes. If you’re doing an RSVP that has an envelope, you would, actually, have 3 envelopes.

Thanks for the comment! I guess that definitely makes sense about the envelopes. I think for our wedding that seems entirely to form and out of all the weddings ive been to ive actually never have received an invite that way. I think i will definitely just use the inner envelopes for guests to send back rsvp cards

I have never relieved an invite with an envelope inner and outer either. I am also planning on using Ann's for my invites. I plan on using the inner envelopes for the guests to send back rsvp cards as well. I just don't understand the inner and outer envelope thing.

It's the way formal invitations work. I know these days people are getting away from formal invitations more and more. But this is the way it has always been! The invitation is a "special" thing, and that, plus the formality of the occasion, dictates a formal envelope setup. This means an inner and an outer envelope. When I was growing up, whenever my parents or my grandparents received a wedding invitation, they would actually throw away the outer envelope and keep the inner, so as to prevent the invitation from "getting dirty" or messed up in some way before the wedding. The other thing about the two envelopes is that when addressing them, the outer is for the more formal address and the inner was always used for the more familiar name/nickname of the invitees. Example: outer envelope would say: Mr. and Mrs. John Smith; and inner would say:" Uncle John and Aunt Sally."

Neither of these envelopes are intended to be used for the RSVP card. In fact, they will be way too big for the card, as they are sized to fit the invitation.

Thanks for the info. Like i said every wedding ive been to ive never seen an out envelope and an inner envelope addressed twice. My brothers wedding was very formal and they didnt do the inner and outer. They just had outer, the rsvp card and an envelope to send it back with. Id have to see the size of the inner envelope, but it does not bother me if they are larger then the rsvp card. I can also buy smaller envelopes if needed from amazon or a supply store

The inner envelope is supposed to hold the invitation and card, then be placed into the outer envelope. The RSVP cards are really to small to fit right in the inner envelope, and the postcard postage is cheaper than standard postage for you.

I would definitely have guests send them back as post cards, but im worried they will get lost in the mail. The mail in my area is slow and items get lost. I think i might end up buying smaller envelopes that fit the rsvp cards and use those instead

I can totally understand that. It's a good idea. I have only gotten one back and my wedding is next month. Actually two, but one wasn't mailed was just handed to my FH.

They look great! I don't see too many reviews on Ann's Bridal Bargain. I just received mine yesterday and I am not happy with them. So I wanted to check in with other brides to see their invites and get their thoughts. Thank you for sharing!
