Anns Bridal Bargain - stamp Question

Caila, on April 14, 2020 at 10:44 AM Posted in Planning 0 6

Hi! Anyone who used Ann's Bridal Bargain I have a question!

1. Did you use 1 stamp to send the invites (using the inner envelope as well)?

2. Did you use postcard postage or regular 55 cent postage? I am hoping to be able to use postcard postage since it's cheaper!

Thanks in advance for your help!!

I stamped the outer envelope only and the postcard rsvp cards I also pre-stamped so the guests would not have to. They can just pop in the mail and its ready to go, but postcard stamps only come in one design ( brightly colored fish design). This did not match our theme at all, but the postcard stamps are cheaper so I just went with it. I wasn't aware they only came in one design until the post office informed me.

Yes, I only needed 1 stamp on the outer envelope. Also, I believe you can use the cheaper postcard stamps for the postcard rsvps. I didn't because I honestly didn't know they existed until way after I sent them out lol.

Awesome!!! I saw the cheaper ones and wanted to make sure they would work before I went that way. I am all about saving money!

Yes, I plan to prestamp as well! I noticed that was the only design. But, that is okay with me if it is cheaper in the end. I am not too concerned as I don't think guests will look at that!

Exactly they're going to end up in the trash anyways so why does the stamp choice matter haha

If it’s a postcard, yes use postcard stamps. If there’s an envelope involved, no matter how small the card is, you cannot use a postcard stamp, you’ll have to use a Forever stamp. I haven’t looked at Ann’s Bridal Bargains, but I have recently researched USPS stamp fees and rules. The Forever stamp is good for letters up to 1oz in weight. If they are between 1oz and 1.5oz there is a 70 cent stamp to use, and if it’s up to 2oz there’s an 85 cent stamp. I know in the past when just mailing one card to a friend that I might have put some extra stuff in or it was one of those fancy greeting cards that said “extra postage needed” I’d be lazy and just use 2 forever stamps. Don’t do that for sending a bunch of invitations. Instead weigh one and either go online or go into the post office to see the exact postage required, so you’re not wasting money.
