Announcing Elopement

We were married with our parents and immediate family in our backyard during the holidays (yay!) We created albums with photos for our grandparents to let them know, but still haven't told extended family/friends. Are elopement announcements mailed sufficient? Or should we individually call our family members and friends? I'm stuck in between "who really cares that much - fun to know but not life altering for them" and "what if they do care/feel insulted we didn't tell them in person". I asked my immediate family and they suggested a Facebook announcement and I face palmed so hard my neck must be permanently bent.

If you had guests (even 1) it's not an elopement.
Call anyone you feel close to and tell them.
You can send marriage announcements to those you are less close to.

I eloped! Way to go! My husband and I hands down felt it was the best choice for us. I sent out paper announcements the day we got married. I knew a few weeks ahead of time so had them ready. We called those close to us, and waited long enough for the paper announcements to arrive before sharing our news on social media. Cheers!
