Hey guys newly engaged and beyond excited. We have been enjoying every moment of it and started to plan already. We set our wedding date for August of 2022. I’m having a little trouble figuring out when to ask certain people to be in my bridal party and when it’s time appropriate since the wedding is so far in advance in two years. Any help or suggestions?

It's best to wait until at least a year out to ask your bridal party. A lot can happen in 2 years, and there are many threads on here about people regretting asking certain people so early and having grown apart from them.

I asked my bridesmaids about a year before my wedding! We had our wedding date locked down, I knew exactly who I wanted in my bridal party, and the 1 year notice gave them plenty of time to plan and for us to shop for dresses and everything!

I think it's best to ask a year in advance. If you scroll through some of the posts you will see people who are venting on here because they asked their friends way to early and then regret it. And make sure who you ask are truly the people you want to be at your side. And remember that a wedding can bring out the ugly side in people even people you'd never expect. It doesn't mean that it will happen with you but just be aware.
