Announcements

If im not getting married till 2022, should i do announcements as well. Or since its closer to christmas can I get away with doing them as a Christmas card? Would that mean i have to get my engagement photos done sooner then later?

Announcements are sent after the wedding not before.

It would be way to early to send a save the date, and like the previous poster stated, announcements are for afterwards. If you want to announce your engagement, you can do so with your Christmas cards if you'd like. I send out Christmas cards every year, and usually include a little blurb of what's been going on in our lives. So when we got engaged over the summer last year, I included that in my Christmas note. So if you want you can do something like that, which would let you wait until whenever to get engagement photos done.

I thought announcements were sent afterwards as well but someone tried telling me they were sent before save the dates...

To clarify I am talking about engagement announcements. I know the we are married ones come after everything. I have tons of family who is big on traditions and since the saves the dates probably wont get sent out for another year. Can I cheat and use a christmas photo/card as my replacement for the were engaged announcement?
