I’m not sure what you mean by step in.
My grand father passed in September 2017 and we got married in January 2019, so it wasn’t super recent but still fresh. Once my husband and I were “eliminated” I brought my grandmother a rose. They would have been the “winner” and I wanted to recognize that.
