Savvy December 2019

Anniversary

Genesis, on October 3, 2019 at 4:53 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 9
Husband and I -okay let's be realistic, I- have been planning our wedding since 2017. Always said it would be December 2019, actual date fluctuated. I wanted it to be the 5th because that's our dating anniversary.. but that was a Thursday, not a huge problem but the 21st (a saturday) was available so we went with it. Well November 2018 we find out I'm pregnant so on a visit to see my family we decided to have my mom be our officiant and we got married on January 5th 2019. HOWEVER since I still want to gave my church wedding we are still doing the wedding on December 21st this year.. so my question is what date would you celebrate? The 1st one, the 2nd one, or both?

SN: we now have a healthy baby boy named Jeremiah😍

I would big celebrate the actual day, like date gifts etc and little celebrate the 2nd ceremony like kisses and "happy anniversary" talk Smiley smile don't know if that made any sense lol

Congrats on the little human you guys made! I’d probably do an actual celebration for the January one, and then something like a special dessert or extra time together for your December one.

Congratulations on your baby!!! I'd celebrate the Jan 5th as your real anniversary and then the Dec 21st as a little anniversary celebration. I mean, one can never have too many celebrations in my opinion lol

Thanks for all your ideas ladies Smiley smile I don't mind having multiple celebrations! My only concern was celebrating the January 5th one being so close to dec 21 and Christmas 😱 but I do like it (1/5) being the main anniversary and just a little reminder on the December one ☺️

It's really up to you two! I personally would celebrate both because I love celebrating...but they are what within two weeks of each other (calendar date wise)? So maybe wish each other a happy anniversary on both days but do one celebration somewhere in the middle.

    Congratulations!

We met on 8/6 and had our court house wedding 8/6 but our party/celebration/wedding is 9/26/20. I think we will still stick to 8/6 as it is the date of our marriage Smiley smile
