Well, yesterday was our “would have been wedding day”. Where we should have been partying it up with our closest friends and family in New Orleans, we were instead stuck social distancing in cold Illinois. (it didn’t help that I looked at the weather forecast, and it is going to be 75-80° and sunny all week in New Orleans 🤬) It definitely wasn’t our original plan, but we tried to make the most of it! We spent the day taking down Halloween decorations and putting up Christmas ones (decorating for the holidays is one of my favorite things!). We played Hocus Pocus one final time while we took down the Halloween decorations, and threw on a Hallmark Christmas movie while we put up the Christmas ones. Our favorite steak restaurant here in town finally re-opened after being closed since April, so we were able to have a delicious takeout dinner! While my fiancé was picking up the food, I set up a few little surprises for him. I had ordered covid/postponed wedding themed items- t-shirts, wine glasses, wine, and a store-bought cake that is the same flavor our wedding cake will be; and also a framed picture of us & our puppy turned into Simpsons characters (inside joke). He was definitely surprised and loved everything! Today is my birthday, and he surprised me with a treadmill that I have been wanting! Since I haven’t been able to go to the gym in 7 mos due to the pandemic, I have definitely packed on some quarantine weight! Now, I have no excuse to not fit into my wedding dress again 😂😂 it wasn’t the wedding day/birthday we had originally planned, but we are making the most of it! And, to be honest, I love the title fiancé-I don’t mind carrying that title for another year ❤️ Plus, we are now officially under 1 year again!! 364 days & counting.....
