Just got what will probably be the last update I get from my FH for a while. He's in Wilmington, North Carolina and said the wind is picking up. From what I'm seeing, it looks like Florence will be making landfall right where he is. Don't like this at all Smiley sad

He still seems to be in good spirit, but his attitude has definitely changed since he got there on Tuesday.

Prayers for everyone in the Southeast. Stay safe

    I read an article about this app called zello walkie talkie that will let you communicate if you have the tiniest bit of reception, even if it's not enough to make an actual call or text go through. I've never tried it but read about using it specifically for storms like this!

    He volunteered to go along with a group from his hospital, and he did the same during Harvey and Irma, so he definitely knew what he was in for. Doesn’t make it any easier though, that’s for sure :/

    Thank you. It all depends. His hospital had two groups that volunteered to go. His and one other. They will be there until they are no longer needed, or the hospital decides they need a break (which is based on whether or not they call and say they’ve had enough and need to come home), in which case they will leave when the other group arrives. Whichever happens first. The last two times, they stayed until the job was done. So depending on how bad...could be a while

    I'm so sorry! My fh and I just moved to Raleigh about a month ago so we're trying to bunker down as much as we can. Your fh sounds like a brave and caring soul! We're sending love for both of you guys!
