An offer i can't refuse? Or can I?? (pictures!) Which should i choose?

Laura, on March 30, 2020 at 6:33 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13

I fell in love with an A line and pulled the trigger and my sons loved it too so I put a deposit on it. Now, my friend has pulled some strings and found this gown for me - I always wanted a trumpet. Do I choose the new gown with the silhouette I've always wanted, or do I stay the course with the dress I already chose?... Ultimately, the trumpet is far less expensive (seriously), but I did pull the trigger on the Aline. (There's an odd reflection of 2 bumps on the trumpet- they aren't there in real life - it's a camera thing.)

So A-line or Trumpet? Carly don't kill me. lol!

Ooooh I love both. The A-line is a little more playful and wholesome, while the Trumpet is sexy and elegant, they're such different dresses. Where is your wedding and what is the theme? And how has each made you feel?

This is my chapel. My sons preferred the Aline, though they only saw 2 dresses. But, wholesome isn't what I wanted - I know what you meant when you said it. But it was soft and flowed and felt romantic to me - the skirt was always the hold up with the dress. I loved the neckline and the lace. I felt like it made my waist look small too. Though, I passed it up once and then went back and put the deposit down - the skirt was always the issue.

I love the skirt of the one she found and the sweetheart I know looks good on me. I wore a trumpet once to try it on and fell in love... and sweethearts have always looked wonderful. I might be able to have them remove some of the lining on the neckline of the trumpet to make it a plunge - like the Aline. But it would work as is too! ...

There's nearly $800 out of pocket between the 2 dresses - before any alterations.

That chapel is something special, wow Smiley love Your A-line is most definitely all of those things- the word that came to my mind when I thought of romantic, soft & flowy was wholesome. It looks totally beautiful on you and even better if it's comfortable!! This could totally go either way but after hearing a little more, I prefer the A-line

Even if the trumpet is almost $800 less? The Aline is comfortable definitely.

I like the look of the trumpet and it seems like you really want to go with that one but have you tried it on to see how that particular dress fits. With the chapel I would definitely go with the A-Line

I'm a bit worried about money and it's the kind of dress I wanted - before the Aline. Hmm... Maybe I can find one like it to try on... Or - I can go try on my Aline and see what's what... But, not until after the shelter in place is up... What would you do?

I would try on the trumpet just to avoid any doubts or dress regret and if it’s possible see if the place you got your dress from can order the trumpet if that’s what you want and transfer your deposit to that dress.

Okay. Have you tried On the trumpet? If not try it on and see what you think. It may look lovely on the hanger and not so much on or look ok on the hanger and stunning on you.

Also, if you can’t stop thinking about the one you have the deposit on- that is probably the one I would say to get. It looks gorgeous on you!
My way of thinking is: when I close my eyes and picture my dress what is the one I see? What is the one that I would regret NOT getting? And what is the one that every time I look at the pictures and or video I am NOT going to go”Man! I shoulda gotten the other one!” ( I did that with my veil- and broke down to spend $500 on the damn thing.... almost as much as I spent on my dress!!! But, I Knew every single time I went to watch the video or look at the pictures and I Had a different veil on I was gonna regret it- so I bought it)
Best of luck and let us know what you decided!

Definitely a deal that's difficult to pass on. There are so many "what if's" about the situation. Maybe trying on the trumpet or a trumpet similar would help the deliberation?

I prefer the trumpet style. I think they are much more flattering.
