Just Said Yes January 2019

Amazon registry gift must be Mia..

Thais, on January 15, 2019 at 1:02 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11

Hi! I know this question has been answered before a few years ago, but wondering how people would approach this now that most know how Amazon works.

I got 3 gifts purchased from one of my wedding guests (I babysit/dogsit for this family at least once a month), and only two arrived to my house within two days of purchase since it was available on Prime. I'm wondering if I should casually ask her about the third one, not that I need it desperately, I just don't want her money to have gone to waste!

Thank you!

Edit: my wedding day was January 5th, she attended the wedding, bought the gifts that evening on Amazon (I know b/c of email notification) and the gifts arrived on Monday/Tuesday of last week.

    Sorry! I'm not a creep, I promise.

I'd wait a few more days to see if it shows up. She can also track the packages I think so she should know one wasn't delivered yet. Maybe after a week if you don't receive it then reach out and say "Hey X, thank you so much for the gifts blah blah blah, we noticed one was never delivered so we just wanted to let you know that we never received it!"

I'd also give it a little time - said gift may have been back-ordered or is coming from a different Amazon facility that's farther away.

Contact Amazon directly. i got a notice that items were purchased off of my registry and they never arrived. Contacted Amazon and they advised the payment from the person failed so the gifts were not actually shipped. They are pretty good at looking into things.

I would contact Amazon and let them know you haven't received a gift that was purchased.

    Hey Thais!

Any news on the lost package? Totally agree that Amazon is usually pretty good about these types of things! Were you able to reach out to them?

    Hi Rebecca,

No updates.. I waited to see if the package would arrive this week and nothing yet.
I'm confused on how to contact them about a missing package because once I select 'missing package,' the site sends me to my orders, not my registry..

Edit- I just chatted with them and the package was lost, so I have to ask the purchaser so they can chat with Amazon. Is it worth it?! It's a $20 gift... I'm torn.

I would just wait a few more days! Some items are not available on prime or could be back-ordered.

I was thinking that might happen! Maybe there is a way to contact Amazon and ask if there is some way, any way you can try to check before contacting the family. Maybe because you're the recipient, they could give you some info!

The package was lost in transit and the only way to solve it is if the purchaser contacts Amazon! ughhh
