Amazon bridal veils?

Kelsey, on August 31, 2020 at 12:40 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

Originally, my plan was to make my veil with my grandma, as something to bond. ... then covid happened. My grandma is extremely high risk and we couldn't figure out a way to get our plan to make it together to work. So, I figured I would just buy one. However, those things are so expensive! One of my coworkers suggested I go to amazon to find one, and to my surprise there were tons, at a relatively reasonable price, with good reviews. However, I am very nervous to get something like that off of amazon. Has anyone had experience buying them off of there? Did they look good quality in pictures?

I don’t have any experience with veils off Amazon, but I have seen multiple veils from the Etsy shop BlancaVeils and they have all looked great in person & photographed well!

I would trust amazon as long as there is good reviews with photos . All of my bridesmaids are wearing a dress form amazon. I ordered mine from etsy. It is just a plain tulle waltz length veil and it was $21. I'll link the shop I order from below. BlancaVeils is very popular but they are still pricey in my opinion.

I haven't bought veils from Amazon, but I've purchased other clothing items, and everything was decent quality! If it has good reviews, it's probably a decent item. If you buy a veil and it ends up not being good quality, Amazon is usually really good about returns. Etsy also has some beautiful veil options for cheaper than a bridal salon.

I highly recommend ordering from Etsy. That’s where I purchased mine. American made and beautiful. Amazon can be hit or miss. I order a lot from Amazon, including clothing and the quality isn’t there.

I bought two shoulder-length ones from Amazon for my local reception (about $20 each). One was crap—like a kid’s toy, one I used but it was meh.

The $35 sweep length veil I bought from Etsy was gorgeous (Bridals by Teri). Highly recommend Etsy instead of Amazon.

I bought a couple to try on from Amazon. They were of good quality. I ended buying one off from Etsy with special detailing for like 40 dollars.

After seeing how expensive veils were in the bridal shops, I opted to buy mine on etsy and it is exactly what I wanted... I spent $50 compared to $300. Try looking here as well as amazon!

You’re welcome! Other brides here also loved their veils from Blanca Veils which I think is also an Etsy shop.

I bought my veil off Amazon and had ZERO regrets. I read reviews first, and made sure I got one with good reviews and photos and that had a metal comb (not a plastic one). The veil I got was really well made, the tulle fabric was soft and flowy, and it looked just like more expensive versions I saw in stores. I wasn't sure if I really wanted a veil or not, so I got a simple tulle fingertip length veil for about $15 and wore it for my first look, the ceremony, and our first dance, then took it off after. Spending hundreds on a piece of fabric seemed like a complete waste. I can't tell the difference between a $200 piece of tulle an a $15 one, can you?

As it turns out, I don't really think I'm a veil type of bride and don't plan to wear one for our larger event next year (fingers crossed Covid is under control by then). After our dance was over I wanted that thing out of my head, and I actually like all the photos of me with no veil better than the ones with. Fortunately, since it was so inexpensive I didn't really regret buying it, and it was kind of nice to have something that felt more bridal when we had to compromise on so much else about our day. I ended up giving my veil to a co-worker for her kid (who is four) and she LOVED it. It made me so happy to have not spent a lot of money on the veil and then be able to donate it to a little princess!

Now if you want a more decorative veil, such as one with beading, pearls, or lace, then I can see paying a bit more for one. Some veils are really elaborate and gorgeous, and all of those details are often placed by hand because tulle is so delicate. There are a number of veil makers on Etsy that have really beautiful and reasonably priced veils if you want something a little more ornate but are still hoping to avoid blowing your budget.
