Amateur Photographer Friend - What Should We Pay?!

Hello everyone!

I am getting married in 2 weeks and we are having a friend do our photos for us (she took our engagement photos and they turned out amazing!) We are on a very tight budget, so not looking to spend thousands of dollars. I have tried discussing how much she wants us to pay her but she doesn't know/probably doesn't want to ask too much. Anyone have any idea at all what we should pay her? I have no idea what goes behind the editing process either so I don't know how long that all takes.

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know!

    I'd think about it in an hourly rate but realize she will have editing time. So say she shoots for 8 hours and you pay her $500. Wow 60 dollars an hour but with all the behind the scene time, I assume it is more like 16-20 hours. So really a lot less. Also be sure to feed her at the reception, this is in most photographer's contracts.

    This really depends on how many hours she’s shooting for and what the average cost is in your area.

    We are also using an amateur photography friend. She is charging us 500 for 8 hours. Getting ready to send off. 12-8pm. 35 edited pictures and 2500 raw pictures. She is also getting fed lunch and dinner. Shes been a friend for like 17 years. We grew up together and her brother was my best friend/drinking buddy in early adult hood

    We hired an armature photographer. She told me her rate is 50 an hour. And we get downloads too.

    I paid mine 200 at engagement pics and 200 will be at the wedding
    I came up with that number cause all the pro photographers were 400 to 600 or 700
