Hey ladies I was wondering am I the only bride that is along with paying for the wedding as far as me and my fiance see we are both adopted My adoptive family has already passed my family is definitely not rich so they definitely can't help and his family couldn't really help too much neither just little here and they're not much at all so that's why I'm trying to have a really strict budget plus a lot of people that already is married and has been telling me you only do the reception and everybody else gets to enjoy the perks and they're not really understanding their there to celebrate you and your husband so a lot of people telling me just to do a destination wedding and take the closest friends and let that be that but I always picture myself having my first dance and the entrance the speeches I want the whole shebang I found a great venue including catering for only two thousand bucks and it is really nice I live in Cleveland Ohio by the way I'm trying not to go over 10,000 for everything including the honeymoon our wedding is in August and we haven't even began to pay for anyting but after the holidays we are putting the fire under our ass LOL but I do see a lot of ladies are going all out having the extravagant weddings which is awesome congrats but we don't have that family back up it's just us so I was wondering am I the only one

My wife and I paid for everything ourselves and kept it around $6,000 not including the honeymoon. There are lots of ways to keep costs down and still have a beautiful wedding. The people here will help and offer advice whenever you need it. Happy planning!

My husband and I paid for everything. It is actually more common now days for the couple to pay for their own weddings so you definitely aren't the only one. Have the wedding you can afford and all will be good.

We are paying for it ourselves. It's my second marriage and my dad made it clear that he isn't giving us a penny.

We are not paying for it ourselves but we are trying to keep it under 12,000 to be mindful of my parents budget. $12,000 is A LOT of $$ but they offered that to us. We are still trying hard to keep it under. I think if you plan it right, you can have the whole shebang in your budget.

We plan to pay for our wedding ourselves. If offered we may accept, but don't plan on asking. We are doing everything at one venue and starting later in the evening. So no meal just finger foods/appetizers and desserts (and of course Alcohol!). Starting with a quick ceremony and then getting right into the partying. Not only will not having a meal save you
$ but also with the DJ if they are hourly and you want your party to last past 11-12 o'clock.

My FH and I are paying for everything ourselves. I was ok, let’s just walk down to the courthouse and sign papers, done, out $30. His family wants a big wedding but isn’t going to pay for it.
They think because his brother had a big wedding that we should too. His grandma paid for his brothers wedding though and their church helped out a lot. In fact I volunteered and was at the church everyday for a week leading up to that wedding helping that woman with everything. She catered it and diy’d everything.
Fortunately my cousin has a friend who owns a wedding venue so we got that for free. Our best friend is an officiant and will marry us for free. As far as food, I’m planning on holding the reception early enough in the day so it’ll be more of a tea party I guess because we’re gonna have to make all the food ourselves. It being early enough too means no bar so I don’t have to worry about alcohol. I have been pleased with what I am finding in bulk from dollar tree too. You can get nice plates, 24 for $12 online. I’m even growing the flowers for my own bouquet.

The biggest areas you can save money is : wedding attire, venue, photo/film, decor

I would try on dresses and find a style that you like and order online:“ rent the run way”, “LightInTheBox “. That way you won’t spend much on alterations. Budget- under $1000
Join your local wedding Facebook groups to find low costs wedding venues. (Ex. Dfw wedding group) Budget- 2,500
Find a photographer/ videographer off FB or IG White just starting out but great reviews. You may only be able to choose one. Budget- 1200
Honeymoon do a staycation or Cancun all inclusive
