I think the dress is beautiful and looks great on you!! You said you "just don't like the way you look". It sounds like this is more about you and not so much about the dress. Unfortunately, magazines, tv shows and social media tend to portray brides as a 20 year old, size 2, with perfect skin, shiny mermaid hair, and flawless makeup. The reality is.... none of us actually look like that! It sets REAL brides up for disappointment and feeling as though they "don't measure up" when they don't look like these perfect, air-brushed, photoshopped models. Just remember, your fiance thinks you are gorgeous and fell in love with you exactly the way you are! And when you walk down that aisle in your dress with your hair and makeup done, he is going to be blown away!

You look beautiful in the dress! What exactly do you not like? Is the dress not comfortable or you feel like you aren’t as pretty as a fake airbrushed model? No one looks like what you see on Pinterest, on or tv or in magazines.


Have you tried shapewear from Honeylove or Shapermint to see how that will help your confidence? Another option is keep looking and seek out online options such as Azazie that let you try on for $15 before committing. If you don’t like the dress, it does show in pictures.

I think it might be a good idea to try on more dresses. It sounds like you love the dress and price, but don’t necessarily love the dress on you.

Ah, us women. We hold ourselves to hire standards than anyone else.


Personally I think you look amazing in that dress - but everyone in the world can think that, all that matters is how you feel.
You said you feel self conscious, I think you should keep looking. I'd suggest trying on dresses you never considered or have the bridal stylist recommend a few dresses.
When you find your dress, you will feel perfect.
If you still find yourself struggling with self confidence try this: look or think of every woman you know. Every single woman has something beautiful about them and every single one has something they are self conscious about. Figure out what you love in yourself and accent that. Do you have banging legs? Try a slit or shorter dress. Do you have great cleavage but are Insecure with your stomach? Try a higher waist line and a v-neck dress. Do you feel sexy with your back exposed but maybe aren't the biggest fan of your arms? Try long sleeves and back less.
Be super honest with yourself about your Insecurities and what you love about yourself. Ask your hubby, a close friend, or look through your photos if you need too.
Also, because we all need to hear it: that flat stomach super model is hungry and crabby.

I love your dress and I love you in it!!! I truly think you look amazing but it is 100% how you feel. Next time you put the dress on I want you to blast some music, maybe your favorite song and I want you to just go crazy and dance! After you have let it all out and at your highest point of happiness in that moment, see if you fall in love again and get that effect you're looking for

If you love the dress but don’t like the fit I’d work on weight loss. I started walking and only walking in July and lost 30lbs before dress fittings. My recommendation is walking and lower carb so that you can feel confident

I bought two dresses. The first dress I bought 2 of my bridesmaids were on zoom with me since everyone lives out of state. I thought I loved it until I started looking at pictures of me in it. I went alone and bought a completely different looking dress. Now I hate that one. My wedding is February 12th so I’ve asked a few close coworkers and I’m going with the original dress I picked. I have no idea what I’ll do with my second dress.

I also bought 2 dresses for my wedding from amazon. Two similar dresses one for me and another for my sister. But My sister didn't like it so I had to return it. I returned according to amazon return policy and I had no issue. The remaining one I have stored in my cupboard. How does it look? I personally liked it but my sister didn't.

I love your dress! I think a LOT of brides feel the same way. I second-guessed my dress until I had it altered, and then looking at pictures now, I love how it looked!

Try adding an A line or mermaid underskirt, a sparkly belt, and a double layered veil that stops a little below your shoulders. Small details can make the dress your own. I didn't like my dress until we added the right tiara and veil
