Thank you everyone for calming the storm in my mind! I just didn’t want to look ridiculous scheduling things so far out.

I am getting married November 2022 as well and I think with the current pandemic it is never too early to plan because a lot of people will probably be postponing from 2021 and vendors will book up quick! We got engaged November 2020 and I have all my major vendors booked(hair, makeup, photography, DJ? Venue and church) and I’m taking a break for a bit. Feels good to have all the major stuff out of the way and is causing me less anxiety! Hope this helps!

Girl...we had the same timeline as you, we are getting married November 12, 2021 and I started planning around this time. We had our venue secured by I think mid January. We started touring at the end of December/early January. We started meeting with photographers in January and had ours booked by February along with the DJ. We did a food tasting in February. I had my dress in February. I booked my hair and makeup artist over the summer. And let me tell you....best thing we did. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE we knew was making comments that they thought our wedding was too far out, aren't we booking and doing stuff early, blah blah blah. Then the pandemic hit and everyone's minds completely changed. "Oh you're so lucky you planned early because look at the world now!" So it is NEVER too early to start planning. Now we are in 2021 and we have some things left to do of course, like get some decor, the bridesmaids and groomsmen need to be outfitted, and we need to do a cake tasting, but all of the big stuff is out of the way and I'm not fighting other couples to get the vendors I want. The time flies, trust me. I started out thinking I had so much time and now I'm looking at the year we are getting married and while I still have 11 months left, it's crazy how the past year flew by.

It seems a bit early. I would suggest not purchasing anything this early because there is too much time to change your mind. Pinterest is a great way to start planning though. The excitement of getting married makes us all want to start early to avoid the last minute stressors. Good luck and remember to have fun.

I’m 10/8/22 and looking to book my main vendors (photographer and DJ) by the end of next week! I don’t think you’re planning too early, it’s better to get the vendors you really want early than miss out, plus once it’s done you do t have to worry or stress!

Not at all! We are planning a 10/2022 wedding and I started planning last year because: 1) I never planned to marry and had no idea what I wanted, 2) our family is spread out across the country, so it's a destination wedding for everyone. It's far less stress (and more enjoyable) to work on it every few months, rather than in a rush.

I think it's good to plan early because of everything that is going on now. I got engaged December 2019 and my wedding is October of this year. My in laws were telling me I was doing things too early and I should wait to start doing anything. I am glad I listened to myself and planned because now I don't have to compete against 2020 brides with having to move their weddings to 2021. Like a few people have said I wouldn't put down too many deposits yet because no one knows what is going to happen.
