Am i on track?

Marissa, on August 22, 2019 at 8:13 AM Posted in Planning 0 6
Can anyone tell me what to do at this point or if I’m on track... I don’t really find the timeline useful on here because we aren’t doing all the steps on it (for example, not having transportation).
We are 11 months out.
So far we have or are doing the following:
1. Booked the reception venue (about $800 left)
2. Booked church and officiant
3. Booked caterer
4. Booked photographer
5. Booked florist
6. Dress purchased
7. Wedding bands purchased
8. Searching for videographer that won’t send me into bankruptcy
9. Speaking with a MUA
10. Working on guest lists
i feel like those are all big things. I haven’t done any little things like plan the decor for example. I don’t even know where to begin with that type of stuff. I will be student teaching beginning in January so I want to get things done in advance as much as I can. I know I’ve got a decent bit of time but I feel a bit overwhelmed because I’m pretty much doing this alone so advice appreciated.

I think you're totally on track, and probably even ahead of schedule. Your florist will probably help some with determining the décor if you're having flowers at the reception. Otherwise I think just browsing the internet for inspiration is a good idea (pinterest would be great for this). I think polishing your guest list is probably a good thing to do next, and then you can start thinking about invitations and save the dates. A day of coordinator would also help you a ton if you have room in your budget - even if they're only really under contract for the wedding day, they should be able to help with recommendations and such heading into the wedding. You could also look into hotels if you have out of town guests, and plans for you and your FS the night before and after the wedding.

You have a lot of the major stuff out of the way! We are 13 months out. As long as you have your color scheme and you don’t have this elaborate idea for decor. You will be fine with planning that a little at a time. Start a Pinterest board (I’m on Pinterest Shanita Yvonne) you can type in your colors and it gives you a million ideas along with budget friendly ones. I’m DIYing my centerpieces and everything is from the dollar store. I would definitely say you’re on track. Just start getting an idea of your wedding decor vision now so you can get materials and start executing the process.

Yes, it seems like you're well on track for your wedding! It looks like invitations and STDs are the next big thing for you. You can start designing them now, even if you're not ready to buy. I have mine all designed and saved with Ann's Bridal Bargains. I will order them in the next few months--waiting for the big sale! If you're planning on sending out Save the Date cards, you can get those designed and ready to go too. But you have to finalize your guest list first. Also, will you and FH be taking your honeymoon right after the wedding? That's something you can start researching now too. Good luck and happy planning!!

    Looking good.

Maybe start researching hair and makeup artists. Schedule an engagement shoot (especially if you want to use photos for Save the Dates).

Figure out your wedding party. Nail down guest list and get all contact information. (That's a big one.) If you haven't already, start a notebook and/or Google Doc/Sheet with your information. I have a Google Sheet with guest list, timeline, contact info, vendor info, monthly checklists, etc. It's awesome.
