Am i being too impatient?

Hi lovely’s!!!

I hired a photographer and she is very wonderful and pleasant. We had our engagement shoot on 1/8/21. It went great! The photographer said the turn around time was about a month, but will send over sneak peaks.
Great! Fine with us. However, I thought it was standard to send the sneak peaks a few days after. Life happens, but I kindly asked a week later if we may see some sneak peaks. They said “yes they will send some over by the weekend.” Great! Well the weekend pasts, and late last night the photographer said they apologize on the delay and they will send them over first thing this morning. Ok, no worries but now it’s 2 pm and still nothing. Do I have the right to be bummed??? I know sneak peaks aren’t required, but they mentioned that they would send some and keep forgetting. Thoughts?

I nanny for a photographer. She is a full time eye doc & still takes the time to sends sneak peeks from her shoots a few days after. I don’t think you’re being impatient, I think you’re being realistic. Plus, don’t offer what you can’t give ya know? Good luck girl, so sorry about that!

Thank you for the insight. She is a newer photographer but also full time photographer. I know it can be time consuming, but just a few photos to get me through the month would be appreciated. I just don’t feel like bugging her again, so it’s just a little frustrating.

I totally understand feeling bummed that you haven't gotten at least some photos back yet! However, since she said a month, I'd give her the full month to get the pictures to you. She shouldn't have promised you the sneak peeks if she couldn't get them to you by the date she said, but I would also still give her some time. If you haven't gotten a few by like Wednesday this week, I would ask again for the sneak peeks. If she still doesn't get them to you after that, then I would just wait until the deadline (one month after you took the photos) before asking about them again.

That's so disappointing! I don't think sneak peeks are a given, but if she told you she would send them, she should send them! If I'm paying for a service, I expect you to be honest and let me know if something is going on and preventing you from keeping your word. I hope she's better with your actual wedding pictures! I didn't get any sneak peeks, but I got all my engagement pictures back after 2 1/2 weeks.

Yes, I’m going to give her the benefit of the doubt because she’s soooo sweet. But she has gotten my hopes up twice by saying that she will deliver them by x date and time! Fingers crossed that I at least get the sneak peak sooner rather than later!

No, I would be bummed as well. She shouldn't be making promises if she's not 100% sure that she'll be able to follow through.

I agree with Lisa! I would give your photographer the benefit of the doubt and wait until the 1 month is up to ask again. Our photographer also works full time AND is back in college getting another degree, so we understood that there might be some delays. This may be a similar case with yours, so give her some time. Good luck!
