Am i a bridezilla or just bored?

A, on May 5, 2020 at 3:24 PM Posted in Planning 0 10
My wedding is in October and we are still planning on having it (there’s less than 30 people invited and if there are still meeting restrictions less will come and we will tape it). Right now I’m working from home and occupying the rest of my time with wedding planning. Whether it’s boredom or a change of heart I can’t be sure, but I’ve been wanting to change a lot of my wedding elements lately. I still love my venue, but I want a different dress and different decor. I don’t know if it qualifies as “bridezilla”, since the only person it effects is me, but has anyone else wanted to make changes to their wedding plans? Should I do it or leave it?

If had enough time on my hands I would plan several different weddings and change my mind all the time. 🤣 I'd change the venue, my dress, the colors, e.t.c.
If you feel confident in the decisions you've made so far, it's probably boredom. It's kind of like art... at some point you just have to walk away from it.

I totally feel you! We got married on our original date in April and while I didn't wear my wedding dress(its stuck in the middle of alterations at the shop), I wore all my accessories with my rehearsal dinner dress. We postponed our big wedding to September but just decided to postpone again to July 2021. I am definitely changing up my accessories, but I feel bad because my tiara was a gift from my MOH and my jewelry from my mom/grandma. I just feel like since I already wore them, it might take away some of the surprise element next year. I had thought about changing up the floral decor but I might have to anyway with it being a different season than initially planned. If you feel like you would be happier changing things up, go for it!

Idle hands Smiley tongue . I think it's pretty normal to over think things when you are in the position that you are in. My wedding is very small as well and I am constantly second guessing my choices. Plus, I am still actively working and when I get home, my brain keeps running wedding thoughts. It's truly exhausting. Best of luck to you!

I definitely got like this lol, if you have too much time to plan anything you’ll start second guessing every decision! We were engaged for 18 months but I only planned for about year (the first 6 months I didn’t do anything). So I started planning like mid-May 2018 for our June 2019 wedding, and seriously we could’ve been ready to have the wedding in August. Like I remember going to my husband in August and saying “alright I’m done, let’s just get married now and be done with it” haha. The funny thing is I do think pretty much everything would’ve been in order by then, and our wedding would’ve been equally great... equally great, but VERY different. I feel like having so much time to plan (which, a year isn’t even very long compared to some people...) just allowed me to plan like 5 different variations of our wedding 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

It happens to us all! Just remember that you made your decisions for a reason, when you made them. Try not to drive yourself crazy. Your current dress and decor will be just as good as new ones!

No i don't think this is bridezilla at all. sometimes when left with more time, it makes you start to wonder about the choices you've made. i remember when i was wedding planning i had moments where i would wonder "is this the right choice"

Not bridezilla at all! I got stuff done super early for my wedding and started second guessing if it was what I actually wanted. I left it all alone and it came out perfectly!

I’ve never had those thoughts lol
    I know what I want.
I don’t see anything wrong with it though You can always change your mind before the date. This day is for the two of you.

You're fine changing things, we all have been lately. I'm also feeling like a Bridezilla because after postponing our June wedding to December, I'm having my maid's change from a mid-pink to the darker wine color dress at DB. We did all discuss it as a group before and made the decision as a group, but it still feels horrible to do to them. They all actually LOVE the new color and were happy to change it. Changes happen sometimes.

Most likely you probably have a lot of time on your hands like I do and many brides do at this time. I’ve been mulling over details and have been able to get a lot accomplished with wedding planning thanks to Covid-19. Planning has been fun and lifting me out of feeling depressed quite frankly. It gives me something to look forward to but I admit there is a nervousness that it may not go to plan which I am mentally preparing myself for as well.
I say as long as you have the time & $ to make changes, go for it!
