Alternatives to Table Numbers

Miranda, on August 21, 2018 at 2:00 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 16

Just curious as to whether or not anyone is using something other than numbers to organize their tables...songs, movies, etc?

We are naming ours after characters from The Office. Each table will have a frame with their picture, and quote they said in the show. We are excited to add some quirkier elements into our reception!

We are not doing table numbers, but if we did they would probably be named after cities in the Netherlands - it's where we got engaged and my dad was born and raised there.

We are getting married in an 1800s silver mining town. In an old saloon. Fh came up with the idea to name the tables after historical figures from the town then I added onto it of adding a short info page of what they did in the town. So it will have figures such as Mark Twain and Henry Comstock. We both love history and are so excited to do some more research

We are doing table names instead of numbers with a board game theme Smiley smile We only have 5 tables, so it’ll be pretty easy for everyone to find their table.

I think we are just doing table numbers to make it easy. But omg your idea of using The Office characters for each table is amazing! That’s one of FH and my favorite shows. Definitely post photos once you have your table markers done, I wanna see!

I love your idea! That’s so different and unique to you and your FH, it’ll surely be a huge hit! Originally we were going to use the word “love” in different languages but decided to go with numbers out of convenience.. kinda wish we stuck with our original idea Smiley laugh

A friend of mine did her table numbers with pictures of her and her husband throughout their childhood. Table five was a picture of them when they were 5, so on so forth.

That's so fun! We met and are living in Philly so our table numbers will also have names of Philly neighborhoods/ attractions. We are going to include both the number and the name of the place on the tables though to make it easier to find, since we are having a larger wedding.

That's a really different idea, I like it. I'd want to be at the Kevin table.

We aren't doing table numbers, or any kind of naming system. We are one of the few couples I know who decided to do open seating.

We're still doing table numbers but each table number will have a fun fact about FH, myself, or both of us! (ie: Table 1: "Jake & Kyleah have 1 dog named Odin"). We'll come up with better fun facts and try to think of things that people may not know about us, but that's the idea we have in mind!

We are naming our tables after flowers. FH proposed to me at the Botanical Gardens and it's just something I really love...his mother and my grandmother are avid gardeners, so it just is something that means a lot to us.

I always find that this is an inside joke most people dont get. We love the Simpsons but if I named the table Lisa, my grandma and mom sure wouldn't get it.

This is a cute idea but I think you should include a number in addition to the Office reference. Without a number it could take a while for people to figure out where they need to sit.

First of all, that is FANTASTIC! Thats super fun!!! I cant wait to see your BAM!!

We are doing a UFC themed reception, and our table numbers will be different fight cards. On the back of the fight card will be a fact about the fights. "This fight holds the record for fastest knock out", "This was the bride and grooms first date" "This was the first time so and so lost the belt" "This was the fight the bride and groom went to the night they met" etc.
