Alternatives to sand ceremony or candle lighting

We aren't doing any sort of unity ceremony (besides the Jewish tradition of a blessing over wine and bride and groom drinking from the same cup), but the most fun I've seen was a cocktail unity ceremony. One poured the vodka, the other poured OJ, and they both took a sip.

We skipped the unity mini-ceremony because they were meaningless to us.

I've had couples water a potted tree (to be transplanted into their yard later), water a potted orchid, plant and water wildflower seeds.

Mix sand, mix colored beads. Waiting to do my first with glass frit (have contacted a local glass studio).
