Alternatives to Father/Daughter dance?

SoontobeMrs.Harmon, on December 14, 2016 at 12:12 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

Does anyone have ideas for what to do instead of the father daughter dance? My dad doesn't dance so I originally thought we'd just forgo the whole thing. Recently he told my mom that he would like to do something, just not dance. We both don't play instruments and neither of us can hold a tune to sing something. I'm just seeing what ideas you ladies might have.

Is he already planning to give a toast? If not, maybe he would enjoy just getting to say something sweet at the reception about you and welcome your FH to the family?

He's not giving a toast. He's not very flashy so I'm actually kind of shocked he even wants to do anything at all.

You could have the band/dj play a song that reminds you of each other as a subtle dedication? Or have you thought about doing a first look with your dad? I've seen a few parent first looks and they are such a sweet moment!

Depending on what amenities you have at your venue, you could do a slideshow/video of some sort showing pictures of the two of you over the years set to music that has significance to you both
