Originally me and my FH wanted to have a catered meal for the wedding. But after we re-evaluated our budget we discovered we couldn’t afford it. So we thought about making the dinner ourselves and realized with 250 guests it’s still SO much money. What are some things we can do to feed the guests...

What are some things we can do to feed the guests without having to spend hundreds of dollars on catering or food.

Lol, I guess then everyone in our circle and family just doesn't expect gifts (shocking, isn't it!? :o)...I guess that's what differentiates your crowd with mine is the fact that we don't EXPECT gifts. Smiley xd Smiley xd Smiley xd

Why is it impossible??? I know people who have hosted weddings clear into the 4 digits...with 500 being minimum.

She said it was impossible to host 250 people while only spending hundreds of dollars (not thousands) on food, not that it was impossible to host 250 people period.

Me and my crowd don't expect gifts. I never said that - I said there is an "unwritten rule" about bringing a gift. I don't expect a gift at me wedding, I do like to bring a gift, or send one to a wedding I have to decline.

But seriously, does anyone search before posting here? Don't self cater. Everyone will tell you why. Check out catering from your favorite restaurants. Italian, bbq, heck even Panera!!!

Thank you guys! I’ve cut my guest list down to 110 and we’ve agreed on doing a pasta bar! Thank you to those of you who weren’t rude or judge mental to me I’m really new to this so it means a lot!

Lol whatever floats your boat, hunny. Call it whatever you want it is OBVIOUS where your bottom line stands.

Ps...you may want to check your grammar too while you are at it.

Its hard to keep food cost down unless your willing to change other things about your day. Have an early ceremony with only cake and punch. Have just appetizers. Cut back your guest list. Cut back on other things like flowers decor etc.. Push back date till you can afford dinner.
