Alternatives to Dessert Table

Someone on the forum (I can't remember who) is having a cheese wheel cake and it sounds so amazing

I thought the dessert table was an alternative but maybe you can do a candy table. Make it like Sweet Factory threw up.

Ice cream or sundae bar?

As much as I personally love cheese, I know a lot of my friends/family don't really consider cheese "dessert" and want something sweet after a meal. If you are already having a cake and want something as a supplement, then I think a cheese spread is a great idea as an alternative to a more traditional dessert table. This may be a "know your crowd" thing, but I know around my circles, people definitely want at least one sweet, more traditional dessert item after dinner.

ETA: I like @J.C.'s suggestion for an ice cream or sundae bar!

We are doing a cold appetizer table. it will have a pineapple palm tree with fruit around it on one end in the center there will be the charcuterie with baked brie and imported cheeses and meats. then on the other end of the table we will have an ice sculpture of a clam shell filled with shrimp cocktail and crab claws and the base will have raw oysters.

We will also have a cookie table with all kinds of fabulous Italian cookies.

Then there will be a kids buffet with a chocolate fountain and pound cake, brownies, and cheese cake to dip.

I have seen people do popcorn bar with toppings or trail mix bars.

A dessert table is typically an alternative option to just wedding cake Is there something you guys love and want to include? Or something you don't love and want to skip?
