Alternatives To a Photo-booth?

HappilyEverAfter329, on January 21, 2018 at 10:54 AM Posted in Planning 0 11

So I want some type of entertainment other than the DJ and bar for my wedding. I considered a photo-booth but I feel like they are played out. Does anyone have any recommendations or ideas? We have a guest list of about 95 and it's at indoor venue/ ballroom in April.

Thanks!

We are doing some outdoor games as well in case people want to get away from the loudness inside since there is a lot of grassy area right next to the patio.

I don't have any suggestions but I don't think you need to feel so compelled to offer extra entertainment. Food, booze, music should be enough to keep adults entertained!

We have been contemplating open box games, but we regularly play games with 50 of our 80 guests, and have an entire wall of board games at home. I have heard of wedding scavenger hunts, but UChicago made me think Scavenger hunts should be in-depth, week long affairs.
Many on here will tell you not to do entertainment. And depending on the crowd, that can be great advice. So maybe think about what each of your guests would enjoy and see if a common thread emerges.

Please do not feel compelled to have entertainment. Eating, dancing and talking is enough for most people.

You shouldn't feel compelled to have games, but I love that people are open to them! Your wedding is not a nightclub. There's no reason you can't have activities.
We're having an outdoor, afternoon reception where there is already a horseshoe pit. Yeah, we're gonna have horseshoes! Consider the vibe you want to give off. Don't just frantically choose something because "We need an activity!"

What Vanessa said. We are grown ups - food and drink is enough.

I was just at a wedding who hired a caricature artist. It was really neat! And he was pretty darn quick!

We're having a caricature artist there instead of a photo booth. It's a little more us and not something everyone expects. Plus something fun to take home

We are having our wedding at a similar venue and we are doing lawn games too! Wanted to have a relaxed vibe vs a super formal wedding

I'm good with booze and a DJ. I don't think you need anything "extra."

I am *hoping* to have a live painter! My mom told me last night that she will pay for it as our wedding gift! It was the number one thing I wanted, but quickly eliminated due to budget concerns!
