Alternative "welcome" Signs

Kelsi, on January 3, 2020 at 6:07 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 18

Hey everyone! I want to see your "Welcome" signs! I am looking for different designs, but more specifically the type that don't say "welcome" and we can use them as décor in our home after the wedding. Why waste something from a memorable day? Maybe signs that say your married name and the date? Maybe something completely different! I want to see it ALL Smiley smile

I don’t have a picture, yet. But, I totally agree with you - I don’t want to spend money on something that’ll only be used once. So, my “welcome” sign is being made out of a large framed chalkboard (that I already owned) & vinyl letters. My FMIL owns a cricut, so she’s making the letters for me. But, I’ve seen that you can order them on Etsy too. Then, after the wedding - I can peel them off & put it back to use again.

Oooh, that's smart! And here I was thinking something like a sign that had our new last name and wedding date or something. That's super creative!

Those are cute too! We just definitely wanted a welcome / unplugged sign & that was the cheapest way to do it, but - it will still look professional. Lol.

You could use framed mirrors, glass or chalkboards. Just some ideas 💡

Im struggling with this too. One of the things I’m considering is using a mirror with window markers! This way your writing is only on it for as long as you want it to be and it can say whatever you wanted it to say! Also I’ve made these ( the picture below) for my family with my circut as a Christmas gift. It’s a door mat! Reason I’m sharing it is you could put a different design on it that says “welcome” and maybe your names and date (whatever you wanted) and then it would still have a purpose at home! I’m thinking for the wedding it might need some sort of easel to hold it up but definitely can be repurposed later. Also the mat itself only cost about $10 at Home Depot! If you’re interested and want to know more about the mat please feel free to contact me!Alternative "welcome" Signs 5

Ummmm. You made the doormat?! That's so cool! I didn't know Cricuts could do that!

My cricut made the stencil ! I’m sorry I should’ve specified! It’s applied with paint which cricuts don’t work with but I definitely couldn’t have made it without the stencil!

Good! I hope it helps you come up with something special for your wedding and/or home. If you don’t already own something you can use - I’d recommend checking your local goodwill for some framed art.

I got the same sign! I have been struggling to find an easel though. Where did you find yours?

Just thought I’d pop back in. I have a friend who’s a designer. She took my ideas and made this! I’m from CA, he’s from MN. We met in ND at college!
