Alternative Unity ceremony that includes children

Future Mrs. Coleman, on December 20, 2010 at 1:03 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

I wanted to do something for our unity ceremony that FH's daughter can participate in. She's only going to be 3 at the wedding, and i'm not really interested in doing Sand or Candles for the ceremony. I saw on here somewhere to use M&Ms instead of sand and i'm thinking about that one. But, does anyone else have any ideas as to what we could do?

My cousin did a ring ceremony for his daughter. he wrote a small vow to her and gave her a small ring. and that way she could have a nice ring from her dad, and she can pass it down to her daughter or whatever.

Thanks you guys, these are really cute ideas. I like the ring idea for him to do in particular, he has her initials tattoo'd on his right ring finger because he said one day he hopes he and her can have father daughter rings. (see picture)

At least yours are a bit older and can do what you ask of them, my FSD has the attention span of a snap of your fingers, haha.

I recently officiated a wedding where the B&G and his daughter & her daughter each poured different colors of beads into a glass bowl. The beads were like DIY necklace beads.

I've also done weddings where the B&G gave the children family unity medalions (don't have to worry about them outgrowing rings).
