What about glass? It's like sand but then after the wedding you send the pieces of glass to be made into a piece such as a vase that you can have in your home.

My husband and I did this through unityinglass.com !

We sent our glass shards back a few weeks ago and can't wait for it to come back in. Highly recommend it so far, but I definitely plan on making a post on here about it once we get it back Smiley smile

Oh what did you pick for your glass pieces to be turned into? We are doing a glass ceremony too, but through a seller on Etsy.

We chose the Unity Wedding Sculpture with 5 different colors. They said we can expect it back within 6-7 weeks, but possibly sooner!

I’ve looked at those and love them! I just can’t see paying $500 for it! I’d love to find a cheaper alternative. But they sure are beautiful!

We are having a very small ceremony so that would be doable. But, we will be in the sand at the beach. If someone drops a ring, we might not find it. Smiley sad

We're doing the same, by having our guests pass the rings and set an intention.

Also Dawn, place the rings in a bag so that they're not directly passing them. I've seen this done and it worked really well with a lot of guests.

I've also seen where a couple had a plant/tree such as a bonsai tree and they both watered the tree. You could also each bring soil from a place that is special to each of you for the plant.

Handfasting? Wine exchange? At weddings I have attended, the vows were considered the unity element without anything else. You can do anything really.

My FH and I are having a blank white canvas with our last initial and date taped off. Then we’ll pour two different colors of paint (from wedding colors) down the canvas and let it dry. Then we’ll remove the tape and hang the canvas and it’ll be our wedding colors around our last initial! Super cheap to make, priced it out at less than $10!!

That is so unique, I love it! How’d you come up with that? Do you have pictures of what it should look like? What size paint will you pour?

I thought of it watching a crayon melt painting video. I don’t have any pictures of what it’d look like but we’ll probably pour 1-2 tubes of acrylic paint, about the amount of paint that’d fit in a can of soda. It really depends on the size canvas you choose.
