Alternative to welcome sign?

Marisa, on September 2, 2018 at 12:20 AM Posted in Planning 0 4
I’m considering not doing a welcome sign partially because I’m a graphic designer and have not been able to decide on something I love and partially because I don’t want to spend the money. I was thinking of printing out cards that I put at every other seat welcoming guests and also including fun facts like meaning behind some of the special things we chose for the wedding that have significant meaning to us. Anyone else not doing a welcome sign and doing something else instead? If so, what? I wanted to have a welcome sign created as one those signs you put your face through and take photos but it’s too expensive.

I've seen someone do programs similar to what you're talking about. On one side it was a traditional program with the order of events and BP introductions, and the other side had facts about the couple. I thought they were a great idea. If you're having an outdoor ceremony, you could make the program fans that way for your July wedding!

I'm not doing a welcome sign, but i did order a custom art canvas from Wayfair. It is a rope in the shape of a heart with our initials in it, and the date. Very simple. Just some decoration for the welcome table that we can hang up in our house afterwards.

We will have a greeter greeting everyone when they arrive and a couple ushers to show them to their seats (particularly the VIPs with reserved/assigned seating).

Hi Marisa! I think it's great that you're doing an alternative "welcome" to your guests! Totally cute and super personal. What is one of the fun facts/meanings behind one of the special things you chose for the wedding that have significance that you might include in these?Smiley heart
