Alternative to mother/grandmother corsages

Mrs.High, on January 6, 2016 at 7:42 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

So my florist is charging $20-25 a piece for the mother/grandmother corsages. I can't justify spending that much for flowers. The groomsmen boutonnière's are going to be starfish which cost me $15 to make all of them. Just looking for some ideas for corsage alternatives.

My mom and MIL didn't want a corsage so my florist said she'd do mini bouquets. We opted for them not to hold anything and it was fine and didn't even look like anything was missing. I say do without

Have you thought of making corsages yourself?

I'm making my mom/grandmother corsages with a brooch and ribbon much cheaper and they liked the idea of being able to keep and wear pin again

My Mom/MIL didn't care for them and we decided to only do bouquets for the bridesmaids and bouts for the GMs. FH and I will of course have flowers. My dad will have a bout since he's walking me down the aisle. No bouts for grandpas or FIL. No corsages for Moms or grandmothers. Just unnecessary money that we didn't feel any of them would miss.

The moms carried three roses tied together.
