Alternative to Charger Plates

Never seen placemats at a wedding but go for it if that is what you want. Most people who opt out of chargers don't replace them with anything.

I’ve seen doilies

Hobby lobby had some cute rustic fall placemats that I wish I had gotten. We only did chargers for the head table but now I wish I had gotten the placemats instead. I think it would be super cute.

We ordered gold doilies, but they looked awful and we ended up scrapping them and getting chargers anway.

Wood slabs. Which I guess is a charger in this case?

Here are some great alternatives I found! I love the look of the doily, it's so pretty and delicate. But, you can certainly use some flat or more modern style place mats! The last image looks like a slate placemat. That would be kind of bulky, but it looks nice.

I'm just going to lay linen napkins in the place of where chargers would go, like this picture:

I thought this was cute and would be a lot cheaper! Hope this helps
