Alternative to bouquet and garter toss

Brenda, on October 19, 2020 at 8:56 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 13

My fiancé and I are straying away from a lot of traditional wedding things. As of right now, nobody will be walking me down the isle, for our unity ceremony we are going to combine 2 beers into 1 delicious beer, yummy! We both definitely DO NOT want to do the whole take the garter off my thigh, just not our style. We are very laidback and still want to do something fun along those lines of tossing or giving something to our guests. If you have any ideas, shoot them my way! Thanks in advance to all the brides to be!

Most couples skip them and don't replace them with anything.

You don’t have to fill that time with something else. Just do the things you are comfortable with.

I plan on skipping them and not replacing them with anything else. However, if you want to find something else to do in their place, The Knot has a few good suggestions: https://www.theknot.com/content/amphtml/alternatives-to-garter-and-bouquet-toss

We’re skipping these. But, If you’re cat people, I saw someone online threw a pusheen and said something along the lines of the person that catches it will be the next to adopt a cat.

You can just skip all together.

We skipped both and didn't replace them with anything. I don't think anybody noticed.

We also skipped them, and did not replace them with anything.

I did give my sample bouquet to some recently engaged friends, but I did not make a big deal out of it.

We're skipping them. I've discovered that both are awkward affairs at a wedding, and they also take time away from the dance floor.

In place of the bouquet toss, we're having all married couples on the dance floor and the DJ will announce "Stay on the dance floor if you've been married for ___ years". The longest married couple on the dance floor are the 'winners' and get the bouquet!

As for the garter toss alternative, we might just buy one and put it around a football and have my FH toss it into the crowd of his friends. (we're big football people so that's why we chose it!)

Your guests will most likely not care if you skip it all together and not do any alternatives! So don't worry if you can't come up with anything that you both like to replace them!

We skipped both bouquet and garter toss. We substituted with an anniversary dance. They winning couple received a bouquet of flower. But you really don't have to replace them with anything.

I have seen couples not replace them with anything, they skip it altogether.

We’re just skipping them. We never even considered doing anything else because we figured the time that would’ve been wasted on them will be better spent on everyone being able to dance and hang out.

We skipped them. We did opt to do an anniversary dance, and I gave my toss bouquet to the longest married couple (which we knew would be husband's grandparents, so it was a special moment for the 4 of us).
