Alternative to aisle runners

Lynnie Pin, on January 8, 2014 at 2:37 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 14

The aisle I'm walking down isn't necessarily an aisle the area is very large. I included a pic from the hall from another event. its kinda hard to tell but the dance floor area is where ill be walking down. Is there a way that I can give it more of an aisle effect without doing too much DIY stuff

Could you just set up the chairs so it creates an aisle?

Could you outline an aisle in flower petals? Paper hearts? Vases of flowers?

Could/would you consider doing the ceremony in the middle of the dance floor?

I think the easiest thing to do would be to get an aisle runner and put it on the dance floor. It would be easy to pull off quickly too when the ceremony was over.

A runner seems like the easiest solution to me too. Petals or hearts will look beautiful, but they will have to be gathered up.

Personally, I would take @Gamecox's advice and set up the chairs into an aisle and have a sign or something telling them to take their chair with them to their seat for the reception. We had to carry our chairs at one wedding I went to, and I didn't mind.

I think a runner would be best as well.

Also: Your ushers can help carry chairs. That's what they're there for.

I would worry a runner would b slippery on the dance floor, especially in heels! I would do flowers (or something else that relates to ur theme: lanterns, leaves, feathers, whatever) lining the aisle

The chairs in rows would look nicer and I don't think people will mind carrying them back. Honestly, I photographed a wedding where they didn't make an aisle and the pictures don't look as pretty as they do when everyone is together.

Make an aisle with chairs. Maybe you can set up extra chairs on the dance floor. Or ask the staff, ushers, and wedding party to help bring the chairs back. Maybe just do a VIP section on the dance floor instead of everyone?

So everyone is seated as they are in the reception?? My vote would be to move the chairs, too. I cannot imagine watching the ceremony from way back in the back of the room.

I also vote move the chairs. It will be hard for people to see this way. Have the groomsmen move them back.
