Alternative to a money dance

Sandyfish, on April 23, 2016 at 7:43 AM Posted in Planning 0 12

I am not having either and not looking for suggestions! I just thought you'd ladies would get a kick out of this. I'm half Greek, and plan on having a lot of Greek traditions at my wedding, so I started researching some. I don't want a money dance, but an alternative is to shred the groom's tie and sell it to guests at the reception lol. I've never seen nor heard of this one.

I'm going to tell you what I said on the other thread, all you need is food, music, and alcohol. Anything that involves your guests giving you more money than what they had already planned is going to seem rude and money hungry. If you want to incorporate more of your Greek heritage, there are ways to do that without having your guests shower you with cash. Dancers, Greek food/dessert, colors, other traditions that don't mean your guests have to take out their wallets.

Shredding the groom's tie? Hahaha Just think about the day of checklist: touch-up make-up (check), bobby pins (check), deodorant (check), shears to shred my beloved's new tie (double-check!)...

My bad! I skimmed and missed the gist in the beginning. Dear lord, minus the first two sentences it actually sounds like you thought it was a good idea lol

Who would want to buy a piece of a tie? Probably the same people what would want to come stick money in your dress during a dance haha. I'm basque.. that makes me interested in what kind of Basque wedding traditions there are...

I've heard of a money dance but shredding the groom's tie, that's a new one. But I've also never been to a Greek wedding and that wasn't in the movie LOL
