Alternative centerpieces

Is anyone doing something really different with their centerpieces? I’d like to do something a bit outside of the box, maybe no flowers at all. Real ones will die, fake ones last forever and ever (and who wants to do that to the environment) - so why not compile or create something very unique. My fiancee thought we might ask a friend of ours to make roses out of wood shavings (he’s pretty good at it). I think we might need an extra bit on top of that to pull it together. What are your thoughts?

One of the centerpieces I had initially considered was a notebook that said like “for their 9 year anniversary” and the # would act as the table number and the book would be for the guests at the table to write in and on that year anniversary you could go back and read what people wrote.

Lanterns, candles, pumpkins, wood slices, floating candles in vases, ribbons, geometric shapes, elaborate table numbers, pictures of the couple, antlers, edible centerpieces, mason jars, etc. There are a ton of options without flowers Smiley smile

I went to a wedding that had 2-3 books stacked with a flower arrangement sitting on top of them. Their theme was "fairy tales" and they were avid readers so it was perfect for them. I thought it was very unique and romantic.

    Something like this...

Leaning towards no flowers for the centerpieces as well! My wedding is at a winery so I'm contemplating just going all in on the wine theme and doing wine bottles for the table markers and glass jars filled with corks and battery operated candles.

I look you're think something alternative and have a friend that could make you wooden roses. I would think about what you like. Maybe something to add color if you like color. You could use the wooden roses on small mirrors if you like or a colored piece of glass.

We're using different-sized cones in gold and dark blue (similar to these) as centerpieces, plus some small sparkly tea lights. No flowers at all! You should do whatever feels truest to you guys as a couple. And ultimately, people aren't there for the centerpieces; they're there for you guys!
