Alternative aisle runner

Hi brides and grooms!

I need ideas for a way to line my aisle without an actual aisle runner. The venue we are having the ceremony at has me enter at an “aisle” from the side rather than down the middle (no there’s no way around it either). It is also a very long aisle so I am asking you all for your ideas on inexpensive ways to line the aisle! So far my best idea is freeze dried flower petals but they would be expensive since I need so many (I cannot use silk petals, rice, confetti or anything artificial).
