Alternating tablecloth colors?

KZP1021, on May 18, 2017 at 11:37 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 21

I initially had my heart set on having chocolate brown tablecloths with all white flowers like pic below, but then I began to worry that it may make the room too dark. My planner is suggesting alternating chocolate and champagne throughout if we don't go with all chocolate. I think it is a good idea but I'm having a hard time really picturing it. Has anyone ever done this? Any pictures to show how it worked out? Thank you!

You gotra be careful alternating linen colors so it won't look to busy, but such neutral colors probably would look amazing.

I think you should stay team chocolate with proper venue lighting that would be beautiful.

Thanks! I actually just found a pic with what looks like alternating chocolate/champagne... I actually think I really like it... Or maybe I'm just mostly liking the chocolate!

I was thinking also having either gold or natural wood chiavari chairs would brighten it up a bit too?

I vastly prefer the versions with just the chocolate linens. I don't really care for the alternating look, to be honest. And I wouldn't worry about using darker colors. If there is enough light in the room it won't matter, and if there isn't enough light in the room linens won't help much.

I was also planning on doing alternating linen colors. There will be 42 tables when combining seated and cocktail tables. That seemed like way too much burgundy, and I planned to break it up with half light gold/champagne ones.

Can anyone explain why they don't like it? I wouldn't have any runners and will have white wooden chairs.

I prefer one color. There is no concern about being too dark with good lighting.

I think you can absolutely do all chocolate table cloths, I'd just make sure to keep everything else light like the first picture you posted - lighter colored chairs and napkins. Also - what does your venue look like? Is that room already dark?

Here are 2 pictures of wedding tables with dark linens, and 1 picture of alternating color tablecloths!

I don't like it. it's too busy for my taste. Do all chocolate cloths, ivory naps and maybe runners. I like the gold chairs or the natural woods.

Oh thank you for those pictures!! I really do like both! Our venue has a variety of lighting options, but I always prefer the more dim-lit and romantic feel when I see photos.

I think it looks lovely alternating. However, I mostly prefer alternating when they are with darker like the chocolate and champagne, and do not like it as much when it is alternating like with the white and blue.

I like the all chocolate vs the alternating. If it is too dark in that venue, you could switch and do champagne tablecloths with chocolate accents (runners/napkins, etc).
