Altering the bottom of my dress

Erin, on August 28, 2019 at 4:06 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6
Hey! So a couple of weeks ago I bought my dress. On the website it says it a fit and flare but it fits more like a sheath on me. I did order it in my size so I hope that will help BUT has anyone had the bottom of their fit and flare altered into more of a mermaid style? Can it be done in alterations?

My first recommendation would be a mermaid style petticoat. It should help flare it out like you want.

Agreed! It seems like it fits tightly but just needs some extra poof on the bottom.

That seems like a fit and flare, not a sheath. A sheath would go straight down. You can take it in down the thighs toward your knees if you want a mermaid style. And the petticoat like pp said.

    Shouldn't be too difficult
