Alterations

I received a recommendation to use a lady that does alterations for davids bridal at her house on the side for cheaper. The recommendation came from my fiancé’s coworker. Would it be risky to use her? I would be leaving at their house.

Is she an established business? Does she have any reviews other than your fiancé's coworker? If not, I wouldn't risk it.

You might want to talk to her, at least, and see what's up. I'm a little confused by this, because I know that the David's Bridal near me has an in-house person they use for alterations. Why would that person also do side jobs for cheaper?

I would definitely investigate this further. It could turn out to be a really great deal from an experienced seamstress. I would just want more details first, to ensure you're getting what you pay for, and that this person knows what she is doing.

    Hey Katie!

Does this seamstress have any business social media pages or a website that you can check out? I would definitely want more information than just one recommendation from someone.

If she works with David's bridal, would it be possible for you to contact David's Bridal to ask about her work?

Are you comfortable contacting her and asking about her experience working with bridal gowns?
