Alterations

Okay ladies, I'm starting to get worried. I'm getting married on October 26th and I still don't have my dress back yet nor have I had a fitting. Should I be worried? I just don't know if I'm freaking out for no reason. All I was having done was the dress taken in, a couple inches off the bottom and a bussle added. How long does this normally take? Should I call? Am I just being paranoid?

I would call to put your mind at ease and call. My wedding is the 19th of October and I had a fitting the beginning of September. I go again on the 11th. I wouldn't say you're being paranoid at all.

I would also call too. Doesn't hurt to ask for updates.

Date twins. I would definitely call. Mine has been taken in twice, adding some fluff to the bottom and adding a bustle and lace to the top. My dress can in in beginning of August and I’ve had 2 fittings so far. My last fitting is the 18th and I pick up my dress the 22nd. I think 3 firings is standard but maybe 2 for you. I would think they need 1 to 2 weeks in between fitting so definitely see what’s up with your dress.

I agree that it's totally reasonable to worry and call. I'd rather have peace of mind than not know what's going on with my dress!

When did you drop your dress off? I am getting married October 5th and just did my final fitting on Monday. When I originally dropped my dress off for alterations (in August) I had it back in 2 weeks. I would call and check on the status of your dress!

I would call for sure. I had my first fitting 5 months out, second fitting 1 month out, third fitting 1 week out.

Yeah I would call. Since you haven’t had a fitting you can’t be positive that’s all that needs done.

    Date twin!

Don't freak, but definitely do call...

I picked up my dress to take home this past Saturday but I did only have minor alterations and was really proactive about getting my fittings in.

This almost happened to me. We took my dress to a tailor 3 weeks ago. I was wondering yesterday why we haven't heard anything back - our wedding is in a month, and I've had anxiety not having my dress safely stored at my parents' house. Smiley xd My mom stopped by this morning, and they hadn't even touched it yet! Smiley angry We're going to take it to the tailor we used for my sister's wedding last year, who was a little finicky, but super fast and affordable. Hope everything works out for you Smiley smile

I would definitely call! I'm actually in the same boat. My wedding is November 2nd and my dress was supposed to be in by the end of September. Being that I am super anxious and today is the first of October, I called this morning lol They told me that my dress would be in by Friday and that there was PLENTY of time for alterations. The woman assured me that everything would be fine and not to worry. That being said, you should call for peace of mind!
