Alterations

My dress is from David’s. Do you recommend alternations from them or elsewhere? Are they more expensive than other places ?

Idk about the price, but the David's will definitely matter. I did not have a good experience with getting my dress altered by them - it took three sessions to actually get work done, including my hem. I would do your research first, maybe see if there are other seamstresses too.

With chains, it can really depend on your actual local store. I would look up on Yelp your local David’s bridal store reviews and see if anyone says anything about alterations.
I have heard a lot of people having bad experiences and some people having good experiences

Davids did a great job on my dress. It was $365 but I expected to pay a lot more so I used the extra money on a veil. Im 4’11” and get everything hemmed, and a hem on a formal dress can be $70-100 so I was fine to pay that much for a 5 layer lace wedding dress plus my bustle and other things.

Davids really messed up my dress, but they've accommodated me for it. So I'm not too upset now lol, but we're still not finished... If done correctly, I thought pricing was fair. I paid 500 but needed a decent amount of work

David’s messed up my dress. I paid $500, but they refunded $200 which I used towards getting it expedited by a seamstress.
