Alterations to a jumpsuit instead of dress/cost

So, my FH and I are super untraditional. Our entire relationship up until we moved in together was long distance. We got engaged together. I picked my engagement ring and matching band set. I'm letting him pick his ring. He's not wearing a tux. (You get the point)

So, for my birthday last year, I got this black jumpsuit, and being 5'8" with long legs and long torso, I fell in LOVE with it. When I realized the store had it in white AND on sale, I knew I HAD to have it for my wedding.

Would it be weird to ask a tailor for some alterations to it? I want to create a sweetheart neckline, if possible, and add an illusion neckline with some lace/beading. I also want to drop the inseam just a teeny bit. For short periods of time, it's fine. But if I'm going to be in it all day, I'll definitely have the mother of all camel toes 🙈🙉🙊

How much would things like this cost? I'm not at the stage for alterations yet (Oct 2020 wedding), but I'd like a ballpark cost so I can allocate a part of my budget for it.

I am seeing all sorts of wedding dresses on my friends' FB pages, forums, Pinterest, you name it. I still want to wear my jumpsuit because it fits my personality really well, but it's VERY plain, and do want to make it a bit more personal. Plus, my FH has already seen me in it.

Not sure how much alterations cost but, I wanted to mention that wedding jumpsuits are becoming more popular. I think Davids Bridal even sells a few.

Your best bet is to make an appointment with a seamstress and get an estimate. You may even want to get a couple of estimates and see if they vary. It's hard for us to answer because the cost could vary so much from seamstress to seamstress and by location, timeline, scope of work, etc. I think the jumpsuit looks beautiful on you and you should 100% wear what you feel best in!

Thank you, Jenna! I didn't know if someone had made similar alterations and could offer estimates. I will definitely look around for seamstresses Smiley smile
