Alterations questions/advice pls!

Julia, on June 21, 2023 at 6:21 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4
I love my dress! Absolutely adore it, but I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the built in crinoline layer. It's just a small layer that could very easily be removed, but I'm having a hard time picturing what the dress would look like without it.
I'm also wondering if it's even possible to change the mesh on the neckline to nude with this style? Not a deal breaker on that, but mostly curious with how it could possibly change the look of the dress.
Thank you all in advance! 😊

To see what the dress would look like without the crinoline, gather it up and put it between your legs, so all the crinoline is in the back of the dress. It should give you an idea of what it will look like without it.
And yes, the mesh on top could definitely be changed to a nude color. Since you are working with lace, though, it may end up being pricey.

I would think changing the mesh is doable. It would look like a deeper cut neckline. If you want to see how that would look on you, you can try finding a dress, doesn’t even have to be a wedding dress, with a similar neckline to make sure that’s the look you’re going for.

Thank you! I will definitely try this! Smiley smile
I also figured that with lace it would be pricey, so it's definitely something I would decide after talking to a seamstress. Thank you for your input. ^^

I have no problem with a deeper cut; it's actually part of the reason why I was considering it. I'm just glad to know that it's at the very least do-able, even if I decide not to in the end.
Thank you for your input. 😊
