One of the first posts I read on this forum was a bride's BAM where she had NOT followed your wise advice.... She put her dress on in the bride's room at the church where the ceremony was. Immediately after the ceremony, she, her new husband and their wedding party hopped on the cute little tram they had booked to transport them all for pictures and then to the reception venue. It was only once she was on the tram that she realized she could NOT sit down in her very well fitted mermaid gown.... She had to slump against the wall of the tram. Once at the reception, she ate her dinner standing up, because she could not sit down in her chair.... Yikes!!!! After reading that, I made sure daughter SAT in every dress she was even slightly considering.... The bride in the post laughed at herself when she shared the story in her BAM, but YIKES! Great advice!

I had my fiancé try on his shirt this past weekend to make sure everything was right, and somehow when he sits, it is too tight around his belly! Fits perfect standing, not so much sitting. So he had to quickly order a size larger and hope it looks ok. We leave for our destination wedding next Tuesday!

I tried on my fitted dress tonight and when I sat down I could barely breathe or move. I'm so glad that I selected another dress! So I amused myself and shared. I hope it helps everyone!!!

Yes, this is something my seamstress made me do at my first appointment! I'm wearing a mermaid gown so she wanted to make sure I was still able to sit even though my dress will be tight around my hips/butt!

Yes, I learned this in August, when FH and I went to his cousin's wedding. I saw her standing the whole time and I was like you know what she probably cannot sit down. So during alterations I made sure that I could sit and squat, I'm pretty sure that the seamstress thought I was crazy!

I did my first fitting/alterations last weekend and righttt before I took the dress off i said WAIT! I forgot to check if I can sit down. And yes indeed I can.
