Alteration costs

Hi all, I KNOW you’re all going to tell me to take the dress to the seamstress but I just want some help with a guesstimate...how much do alterations usually run? At this point I’m just thinking I’ll need the hem done since I’m planning to wear shoes with barely any heel (like 1.5” or so). Pics below of the dress. Is it possible that I could skip the hemming if I got a slightly taller shoe? I really don’t want to wear high heels. Just let me know your thoughts!
