Alteration advice

Ana, on March 23, 2022 at 6:27 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
So today I got what will be my wedding dress in from Lulu’s. I really fell in love with how light & comfy this dress is but now I’m facing some issues.

My straps need to be altered a bit (no biggie there) but now I’m wondering if a bustle is even possible. The dress is all lace with a bodysuit under & there’s no other sort of lining. Anyone purchased this dress in the past and had alterations made?

So it looks like you wouldn't need a bustle? Typically that is for dresses that have trains. But even if you did want one, they would just add hook and eyes to the seams of the dress, no big deal!

Ah! Maybe it feels like there’s a train because of my height 🥲

I don't see a train, so just focus on getting it hemmed correctly! Make sure you have the actual shoes you'll wear that day, and bring those to your alterations appointment.

You could ask the seamstress to hem it and give you a “sweep train”. That way it looks bridal but doesn’t necessarily need a bustle

Thank you for the suggestion! I’ll definitely ask about this because I think there’s enough length to do something like that
