Alright so.. is it at all possible to turn half of my full dress into a skirt? This is where we’re at now 😂 1

I feel like the buttons could be a problem, but in my (non-expert at all) brain it feels like it could potentially happen in the full lace part of the waist. Story: I had this custom from the site and hadn’t gotten to try anything on. I’ve lost 20lbs, so it just is huge in the top and it’s HOT especially for a May wedding. But I’m absolutely crazy about the bottom. I have it with a champagne underlay. I’d like to just find a light top. Am I nuts?

making separates, top and skirt, from your gown?
Yes, easily done for your style gown. But it is time consuming to take apart and remake the detailed finish work on the bodice, so it won't be cheap.

I'm sure they've had crazier requests. I think your idea could be stunning, maybe with a bodysuit that matched the color of the lace overlay?

Consider looking for what you'd want to wear on top before making the chop since there won't be any going back.
