Alone

Raina, on July 26, 2020 at 4:55 AM Posted in Planning 0 11
I recently moved from Ohio to Alabama with my fiance. My nearest relative is about 2hours away. Most of my relatives (sisters, cousins,step-mother) are in Ohio. I don't know anyone except for my fiance's family, and the owner of our wedding venue (she's awesome by the way) I'm planning EVERYTHING by my self. I'm super stressed out. And we're on a limited budget (I just need someone to talk to).

You can always come here to vent because majority of the time someone else is going through the same thing or at least something similar! I hope you start feeling more excitement than stress Smiley heart

I moved to CO from NC with my then fiancé now husband. We don’t have anyone here. Everyone is 1000+ miles from us. Sometimes I also feel very isolated and lonely but I remember why I did this. Hang in there! What wedding plans do you have so far?

Planning a wedding on top of a big move must be exciting and stressful! I feel for you. Smiley heart Take things one step at a time. Do you get along well with any of his family members? Maybe you can host virtual chat sessions with your loved ones/wedding party. Don't be afraid to delegate some tasks; just make sure they know your preferences & let them help you.

We have our venue (making payments), guest list (did evite and traditional),menu for Reception (venue offered second room),my gown, shoes and veil ordered day before yesterday. Bridesmaid's dresses and shoes ordered 2weeks ago, I am doing all centerpieces, bouquets, boutineers, and most of the cooking (Did I forget to mention that all of this is being done with One paycheck? And my fiance is working anywhere from 10-12 hours a day, 6days a week? I have COPD,Doctor won't let me work because I am at extremely high risk! For COVID-19) I SPEND A LOT OF TIME ALONE! Plus, everything was planned with CDC guidelines,so we will be supplying our guest with masks. (Which I may actually make myself)!

I agree. I talk to my fiancé about everything but it’s also nice to talk to others who are going through similar things and can give advice!

Enlist the help of your fiancé. My hubby said, “It’s the bride’s day” but after telling him I felt all alone planning “our wedding” we brainstormed ideas over wine and then he was a 50/50 partner. 👏
