Almost a short vent. Vendors who don't return phone calls or emails?

I have emailed, called and stood on my head for a vendor to contact me about a wedding cake, dessert table and favors. He has yet to do anything except send me an email saying "He would love to work with me." With the economy on life support I would think that vendors would be breaking a door down...

With the economy on life support I would think that vendors would be breaking a door down for a bride, I guess I'm wrong here. Off my soap box. BTW Sorry if I offended anyone here. Just a little upset here. Thanks in advance. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'm in Arizona.

It does not matter how busy a vendor is, EVERY client is priority #1. A close coming bride isnt anymore important than one who's wedding is a year away. They both paid the price, they both signed a contract and they both deserve the attention equally. Id find new vendors. Many are out there who LOVE there clients and will make sure to be attentive. Dont settle, you dont have too. Goodluck

I have had nothing but problems with vendors not returning my phone calls/emails. You would be surprised of how many vendors have not responded to me. I guess i'd rather know in the beginning what they're like then 1 week before the wedding, when they're not returning phone calls....

    Hi Rhonda,

Most vendors I know make it a point to return all calls within 24 hours regardless of how busy we are. I would call this a big red flag and move on to a different vendor.

I'm with you, Rhonda. In the beginning of March, my father spoke to a DJ/band and told him I would be reaching out to him. I called 6 days later and he didn't answer, so I left a message. Over a MONTH passed and I didn't hear back. FH called yesterday and was on the phone with him within 5 minutes. boooooo

I understand your frustration. I always return calls and emails (usually the same day, sometimes the next morning), follow and purchase leads, answer questions, etc. Then, many times the Bride doesn't respond...at all! It would be nice to get something that says, "We have decided to go in another direction..." or something similar, so I am not wasting my time on dead ends. So you see, it does go both ways. Rhonda, good luck with finding a vendor who will give you the great service you deserve. I would seriously reconsider working with the one who is not responding to you at all, busy or not.

I'm having the same problem..when is it time to find someone else? My FH's family wants me to use a lady from their local town..I've talked to her initially but she said to email her some days I could meet with her. she's yet to contact me back and it's almost 4 weeks. I've left her 1 email and multiple vmessages..i'm about done.

If a vendor doesn't return your call, then they are either: A) too busy, or B) don't want your business! ...Neither of which is a good sign! Also, not very professional.

I'd say move on to someone who DOES want your business, they will do a better job for you, and show some interest in you by calling you back/contacting you somehow. BTW, I always return calls!! Smiley smile

Rhonda, no matter how far out your wedding date there is no excuse for a vendor not getting back to you...even during wedding season. I work until very late into the night to return my e-mails each and every day of the week. BTW I'm also in AZ.
