Almond cake?

I really love almond cake with raspberry filling, but is that ba to have as the wedding cake? What cake flavor are you having?

Graycatvintage- true, but some people are severely allergic, so much that the smell can make them have a reaction. I personally just wouldn't want to risk something like that happening at my wedding.

just saying, as a precaution maybe ask people to list any food allergies or restrictions they may have just to be safe. I listed that on our wedding website and we did it through word of mouth as well. don't want an ambulance over something like cake. not trying to start drama just trying to be helpful.

Most people also serve nuts at weddings - if someone is that allergic they need to stay home. Again, the person with the allergy should have enough common sense and knowledge of their condition to gauge whether or not they are "okay" to be in certain areas or attend certain functions. That is not my concern, it is theirs.

Won't touch it personally, but I think it is a pretty traditional flavor.

I have friends with allergies, it's really not a big deal to go with white cake (for example) over one that might send them to the hospital. just because you have an allergy shouldn't mean you can't go to a wedding. sounds pretty silly to me. as I said, I am just trying to be helpful. that's why people post on these forums, is to get feed back and perspectives they may not have considered.

so just saying, especially if there are kids at the wedding, you might want to look into if anyone has that allergy, or think of a different flavor. in the end it's your wedding and you can do what you want. just saying it might be something to consider when choosing that flavor.

I just love almond cake! I had never had it until the first tasting and it was so good!! My FH loves carrot cake but we decided it would be easier to just have one flavor.

Maybe when we do the tasting with our new baker we will pick a new flavor! I can always have almond cake for my birthday at the end of the month!

Just question if allergies will be an issue. if not, go for it
